Mission Pole

Why do villages WANT a pole?

To SHARE His Love!

In rural Ghanaian villages, community members united to help Reach Beyond NZ install mission poles, a project set to deliver both practical and spiritual benefits. Residents of all ages worked together, digging foundations and cementing the bases of the poles. The effort was a collective one, with villagers sharing tools, encouragement, and a common goal to enhance their community.

The mission poles provide reliable lighting to brighten the village at night, improved security for homes, and charging stations for essential devices. Most significantly, they will broadcast the Gospel message of Jesus Christ twice daily, sharing the hope of salvation and God’s love with the community. As John 8:12 declares, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” These broadcasts aim to inspire and uplift, offering spiritual nourishment alongside the practical improvements.

Chief Gordon Atakwa of Doglokpo village in Ghana, attests to the transformative power of the Gospel within his community of 200 residents. He reports a significant shift, with many individuals embracing Christianity, resulting in a tremendous impact on the village as a whole. Previously, approximately 50% of the population adhered to animist beliefs, but this demographic is undergoing a significant change. Chief Gordon asserts that the Gospel has proven to be a more potent force than the traditional shrines and spirits that once dominated their worship practices. “And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He (Jesus) made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” Colossians 2:15.
